Problem
Blood banks in Georgia lack resources and modern systems, leading to spoiled or even resold donations. The real solution: donating where and when blood is needed most.
Opportunity
Bank of Georgia has 8,400 employees and regularly runs donation drives. Given the scale of both the company and the problem, we saw a chance to do more.
Idea
We created a platform that turns employees into an on-demand donor network. Partnering with the Selfless Blood Donors Organization, we combined personal pledges with formal consent, so employees can be called to donate exactly when needed.
Execution
Step One: On June 14, World Blood Donor Day, we held free blood type testing at HQ.
Step Two: The platform filters by blood type and proximity, alerts the closest match, and employees get a paid day off to donate.
Results
500+ Volunteers: What began internally spread to families and citizens, with no media budget.
Real Impact: Timely donations have already saved seven lives.
Team Spirit: Employees found a meaningful way to act together while making a difference.
